Of all the decisions couples make in the run-up to their wedding, the rings themselves are too often left until last. It's an easy trap to fall into, other details feel more urgent, and a wedding ring can seem like a simple purchase. In reality, leaving it too late is one of the most common sources of last-minute stress we see, and it's entirely avoidable.
Good rings take time
A beautifully finished wedding ring, whether a simple band with the perfect weight and profile, or something more considered with texture, detailing or diamonds, isn't something to rush. Bespoke and made-to-order rings typically take from six to twelve weeks to create once a design is confirmed, and that's before accounting for consultations, fittings, and any adjustments along the way.
For more complex designs, a band fitted precisely to an existing engagement ring, a piece that repurposes treasured old gold, or one that calls for a specific coloured diamond or gemstone, it's sensible to allow at least three to six months before the wedding date. This gives enough time for sourcing, design approval, crafting, and a final fitting, without anyone feeling rushed.
Peak seasons add pressure
Wedding season itself creates its own bottleneck. As more couples place orders in the months leading up to spring and summer weddings, lead times naturally extend. Ordering early means avoiding that seasonal squeeze entirely, and having far more flexibility if any part of the design needs revisiting.
It protects the experience, not just the deadline
Choosing your wedding rings should be an enjoyable, unhurried part of your wedding planning, not a scramble in the final fortnight. Giving yourself three to six months means time to properly consider finishes, try rings on more than once, and make changes if something doesn't feel quite right, rather than settling because the date is looming.
Our advice: start the conversation early
Even if you're not ready to decide on a final design, coming in for an early consultation means we can plan your production schedule around your date from day one, so there are no surprises later.
