Meet Abbey
Abbey's story began nearly 18 years ago, rooted in the elegance of Harrogate - a town that has always had an instinct for the finer things. A first role in a small independent jewellers sparked something that never really left. A deep, genuine love for fine jewellery and the people who wear it.
Working for Omega, Breitling and Bvlgari took Abbey into the world of luxury at the highest level. Brands defined by heritage, craftsmanship and an uncompromising commitment to excellence. Every day was an education in what truly great jewellery looks, feels and means.
Then came the opportunity that changed everything. An invitation to travel to America and train with Tiffany & Co. in Miami's fashion district. Abbey accepted and what followed was an extraordinary chapter that culminated in becoming Store Manager of Tiffany's first ever showroom at sea. A role that demanded not just encyclopaedic product knowledge, but the ability to deliver a world-class client experience every single day for some of the most discerning jewellery buyers in the world.
Returning to the UK, Abbey completed a Professional Jewellers Diploma, one of the most respected qualifications in the industry, and launched Secretly Secondhand, a beloved preloved and vintage jewellery brand that brought exceptional pieces to a new generation of buyers.
All the while, a bigger vision was taking shape.
Five years of careful planning, sourcing and preparation went into what would eventually become Harrogate Jewellers. A business rooted in this town, built on nearly two decades of world-class experience, and designed to offer something Harrogate had never quite had before. A truly personal, expert-led fine jewellery experience with absolutely no compromise on quality.
We opened our doors at 5 Victoria Avenue in June 2025. In the time since, Abbey and the team have been trusted with engagements, weddings, anniversaries and one-of-a-kind. bespoke commissions that mean everything to us.
In our very first year of trading we were shortlisted for Store Design of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards 2026. We are still incredibly proud of that. But what matters most, what has always mattered most to Abbey, is the moment a client finds the right piece. The ring that makes them catch their breath. The commission that turns a vision into something real and lasting and beautiful.
That is why Harrogate Jewellers exists. And that is why it will always feel a little different.
